Baptisms at Sabanalarga, Antioquia, Church of San Pedro, Image 42 of 252:

I was searching for the baptism of Sofía Arango, which it says below was on 3 May 1943. However the image shows the baptism of Sofía's daughter (Elvira?).

Is this an error or have I misunderstood?

@William Piper_2 Here is the family relations I get from the baptism record (not being a native Spanish speaker):

The principle party (birth/christening) - is the daughter Elvia Ines Moreno (if I made that out correctly - doesn't appear to be indexed and the index is not available for editing)

    baptism 3 March 1943 birth 27 Feb 1946

Mother - Sofia Arango her parents> Emiliano Arango and Rosario Tamayo

Father - Luis Eduardo Moreno his parents>Eduardo Moreno and Amelia Jaramillo (autoindex incorrect)

If you click the notepad (circled in red in the picture below) you will see the autoindex and it's supposed extraction of the family relations

The baptism of the mother: Sofia Arango should have her parents as listed above - I could not locate it.

Here are some other children of Sofia Arango and Luis Eduardo Moreno:

    Mayer

    Julina

    Gabriel Angel

    Here is a record of Sofia's nephew's birth/baptism

Thank you for your comment. I think you are agreeing with me that the indexing, naming Sofia, is inaccurate as it's really about her daughter. I now note the comment about this info being extracted by a computer. I wonder how the system could be corrected.

(I'm not a Spanish speaker either. These are my son-in-law's relatives.)

Thank you for pointing out the other children. I hadn't seen them.

    Regards,

    Bill

@William Piper_2 Yes the Index needs corrected on these entries some - but did what an index is supposed to do - get you to the record image! The index can be corrected 'later' - linking these records to persons in the Tree is probably the important next step.

Thank you Bill for allowing me the opportunity to learn about the 'new' indexing system! You would not have seen the other children - in process of trying to locate Sophia's baptism the search turned them up. 👍
