How to find more information about Sir Edward Youde
Sir Edward Youde was the British Ambassador to China and the Governor of Hong Kong. A hospital in Hong Kong is named after his wife, Pamela Youde. He told my cousin that he is undoubtedly related to us but didn't know how. I am trying to link him to my tree but I can find almost nothing about him or his wife. I have found a very brief biography of her at the Pamela Youde Hospital site and I have found the names of their children, Jennifer and Deborah, and that he was born in Penarth, Wales. And I have found his brief obituaries from US newspapers. His obituary says he is buried at Westminster Abbey cemetery. I have not found his parents, or siblings if any. I have traced my own family back to Wales and Shropshire. I wonder if the lack of information has to do with his rank in the British Foreign Service. I have not attempted to look at UK Family Search Centers. Any suggestions on how to find the missing links?

@RichYoude I refer you to the compiled genealogy from Pedigree Resource File.
I found this via: FamilySearch> Search> Genealogies
The links in the FamilySearch> FamilyTree to:
- His father's line - there appear to be another competing tree for his father Alfred - these trees will need to be resolved and 'merged' when appropriate
- His mother's line appears to be a tree needing some finding in the FamilyTree - this compiled tree MAY assist you.
You may want to try messaging the users who submitted this genealogy from within FamilySearch: martynjones (or a variation thereof) and the user most recently working in the FamilyTee: Kizzer
I hope this helps!
