Name for Allen's Camp / St. Joseph / Joseph City, Arizona
I'm grateful that someone has been working to correct the names for the seven time periods in the town's history.
The only one that still needs correcting is the one for the period 1878-1879. It now shows Joseph City, Yavapai, Arizona Territory, United States.
It should read St. Joseph, Yavapai, Arizona Territory, United States. The name was not changed to Joseph City until 18 December 1923.
The reference to document the change is Tanner, George S. and J. Morris Richards, Colonization on the Little Colorado--The Joseph City Region, page 36, last paragraph.
Thanks for your help!

Thank you for that clarification. Please use these instructions, so your valuable information will reach the correct department. How do I suggest a new place to FamilySearch Places?

I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Further to what has also been proffered, by the aforementioned "Knowledge Article" ...
As an aside ...
There is also an ADDITIONAL place, where one can "Request" either, the ADDITION of NEW of 'Place Names'; and/or, CORRECTION to EXISTING 'Place Names'.
That additional place, is one of the 'Groups', the 'Groups" Section, of this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
Please be aware, that you will need to "Join" a 'Group', to post a 'Question'/'Request'/'Discussion', in a group.
The particular 'Group' being:
'Groups' Section
Home > Groups > FamilySearch Places
FamilySearch Places
Description:
Help us improve our database of places. Unable to find a place in the Family Tree? Find a place that is misspelled or has other data errors? Come here to share those issues so they can be fixed.
https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/68-familysearch-places
That particular 'Group', still appears to be functional; and monitored, by Personnel from the 'FamilySearch'; [ "Authorities Team" ]; "Standards Team"; for "Research Places", of the "Place Names" Database, in 'FamilySearch'.
https://www.familysearch.org/research/places/
I hope that this may also help, somewhat.

@NidaFL gave you exactly the link you need to pursue this correction. You have the supporting details. Note that in the FamilySearch Places gazetteer the standard in question is provisional. So the gazetteer curators already know it isn't quite right. It references Wikipedia; you could further the cause also by working on the Wikipedia article.
