How to archive historic genealogy files at LDS
I have inherited a large quantity of paper files, books, correspondence and published family association journals from over 3/4 of a century related to Upshaw family genealogy which have been passed down through at least 2 other generations of genealogists. I have no children and no obvious successor to pass these materials to, and wanted to find out if the LDS church still archives such materials (or knows of appropriate libraries who do) so I could potentially donate them at some point. I am also digitizing in Word, PDF, jpeg formats much of the materials which aren't bound into books, so could also donate many of these records in electronic format. If there is an appropriate contact I could call or write about this, I would appreciate the contact info.
Regards, Tom

Additionally, you could also consider uploading digital files to the Internet Archive, archive.org, as a Community Text.
See https://archive.org/details/opensource?tab=about. The usual format for upload is a pdf file, and I have found it is usually very straightforward. These can either be digital versions of printed books, or your own "digital book" made from your notes etc. Images can also be uploaded as Community Images, but in my view it is better to upload as a text, as there are more options in the Text version to increase size etc.
There are many genealogical books etc on the Internet Archive. and there was presentation I saw, I think from a past Rootstech, on what a valuable source the Internet Archive is for genealogy.
