New format

Do you live near a Family History Center? Perhaps someone there could help you sort out the problems you are having. It is likely that things will not return to the old ways.

The comments on this subject have been almost entirely negative to date, but as LAHS6 so rightly says, there will be no returning to the old format, even though it was far easier to use.
There was a post added by an employee to which we could add comments, but these seem to have been ignored and the revised pages have gone "live" regardless. Perhaps I have been fortunate in only having had to deal with the issue on one day, so far - as I still have the "old" Search page showing after logging in on my account.
It completely baffles me as to what user testing is carried out in these cases. I have been assured previously that user testing is thorough, but what cross-section of FamilySearch users are involved? Obviously not the type that use this forum, and/or are engaged practically every day of the year in searching for the sources of relatives (and others).
In summary, all very "user-unfriendly", but there'll be no reverting to the version which, in spite of not being perfect, has easily produced so much information for me regarding my family and other individuals I am researching.

Worst interface ever! Not user friendly.

User Interface
Please revert to the old user interface. This interface is not user friendly. It is confusing and difficult to use. Please, please return to the old interface. I always loved your site, but now it is practically unusable.

This New format SUCKS!!!!!! I don't know whose bright idea this was but you need to keep your ideas to yourself! Fix it! There seems to be no information left here. You can't search items marriages, or census forms! Can't find crap now! You took a great site and upgraded it to crap!

It seems clear that the compelling desire of the young to change things overrides everything.
There was an adage about the "thirty year rule" that applied to the workplace. The reason why things are done the way they are is only known by the people who were around when it originated. All the time they are still present they can stop overly keen up-comers from screwing up. After the eponymous 30 years, those people have gone, and there is nothing to stop an inexperienced person from implementing their ill-conceived and untested "better way"
The one lesson we never learn from history is that we never learn from history.

What a shock to see the new format. Before, one could pick up hitherto unknown family members by scrolling down the lists.
I am very disappointed. I do not find Familysearch records user friendly anymore.

This new interface is just awful. Did they actually ask any of their users for an opinion? It is far less efficient than the old layout, and more difficult to use. I really thought this was one site that listened to its user base, but clearly I was wrong.

I agree with all the above comments. If it's not broken why fix it? Change it back PLEASE

It was such a helpful site and now this is awful, it seems that there are now more steps involved and not sure that the results are as good

I agree. I can't find anything with your new search engine and I prided myself in discovering mysteries before. Now I just get a bunch of information that isn't what I was looking for or even helpful. I've tried filtering all the features to find exactly what I want, but it is not working. Please go back to the old format. Doing family history isn't fun anymore.

Sure would be nice if FamilySearch addressed all the comments, but I guess they are just going to ignore us all. And they don't even have feedback anymore.
HORRID! Now on top of everything else, if you narrow it to a certain collection (which takes many clicks and movements of the mouse now), when you decide that you want to stop the more limited search, YOU CAN"T BLOODY JUST get back to the overal search!
Nope, now you gotta re-enter everything.
What friggin' genius came up with this? Someone who decided that FamilySearch had to be trendy.
Well now it is doggoned unusable. Before, I'd come here to relax and enjoy myself. Now it is a horror show that fills me with frustration.
Want to find your ancestors? Good luck. Thank god I did most of my research prior to this change, but now I am trying to hone in on some things and I can't because this interface is a useless horrror show.
Unless you know exactly what you are looking for (and rarely does one), you are going to be really lucky to find it with this new interface unless you have the patience of Job and want to scroll through every darned hit.
I can't believe the idiots that created this. Obviously, they don't actually USE it!
It is distracting, window on top of window (what's that for--smart phones), more than half the options are hidden. You now need a visual manual to use this thing that produces a list of hits so awful that you probably won't find what you were looking for anyway.
Ancestry isn't great, but it is better than this, and for the frustration I am experiencing, I may well pay their horrendous fees or just STOP SEARCHING altogether for a few years until I have the dough to pay their fees. Because this isn't worth the frustration.

New format is hard find you are searching for. The old saying is right. If not broken don't fix it. Many years ago you know getting records wrong. Folks did want to go here because of this. Then there folks who add their family trees. Someone thought lets Merge all trees. So FamilySearch did that. My grandmother maiden name was Stewart but you give her Kilmer brothers and sister. I tried get fits but to stop for getting sick because you and I could not do so. The some fits it was great the tree were right. You look for information in seconds. It also link to someone or your tree. It was someone you could talk them by posting. Now it does not link at all. Please go back to other format! Please! If not broken don't fix it. Please not trying to fix it. I been doing Family History for over 50 years. I would love to use this site but as now I can not
