Hi Elizabeth
Welcome to Family Search Community. Glad you were able to post your question.
It is not normal that you would have to change your password every time you sign in which is why you are asking the question. What we find in most cases like this is the you are having your computer memorize your passwords. And for some reason, when you change your password, the memorized password is not being updated. You will know that you are using memorized passwords if they are automatically being filled in rather than you entering them. If this is the case, then you can do one of two things. If you know the password you last changed, then when signing in, remove the prefilled password and manually enter your password. If you don't remember the last password you created, go through the process to change your password again. Make sure you keep track of your new password. Now when you sign in, remove the prefilled password and manually enter the one you just created. After you manually enter a password, your computer should prompt you to save your password and you will want to do that. Memorized passwords are a function on your computer, not Family Search. Give this a try. If you are still having problems, please respond so we can offer additional help. Thanks.
Here is the link to instructions on how to change your username and password. This is just in case since it sounds like you know how to do that.

We are sorry to hear you are having to change your password - Ever !! The same user name and password may be used on any computer, or mobile device- today, tomorrow and ---. We wonder if you are saying "yes" when asked if you want your password saved. If so, that password is --not-- saved in Family Search. I may be being saved to the browser you are using ( example Google Chrome asks if you want to save your password) or it may be coming from a password manager linked to -maybe- your anti-virus program.
When Family search is not accepting your most recently created password, if there a just dots where the password belong, take you those dots and type in your newest password. The dots may be linked to a previous password that Family Search no longer recognizes.
Please post a response to this message and let us know if this suggestion solves your problem. Remember, Saved passwords have to be updated to the most recent password change.
