Family Search replies
When I submit a question, I usually receive several answers:
1/ an email
2/ in FS there is a message by clicking on the 'bell' at the top of the page
3/ in FS there is another message by clicking on the 'envelope' at the top of the page
It seems a waste of time and energy to have the same or similar replies for the same question - maybe not for those of you who send the replies, but to us who have to go through all 3 replies for each person.
Most of the time, the reply does not include the name(s) of the person(s) I am asking about. Since I send several separate questions at a time, I need to have the name included in the reply.
I appreciate the work that is being done - as it is very important. I don't mean to be critical - just hoping that perhaps some steps could be eliminated.

Right Click on your picture icon.
Click on Edit Profile.
Click on Notification Preferences.
Click on Every check mark to turn it off. Click Save General Preferences.
This will turn off email.
I doubt there is a way to turn off the bell or the envelope. The envelope is only for messages that other people want to send you personally. The bell is to let you know when others comment on a post you have commented on or liked.
It is really easy to mark all the notifications under the bell as "Mark All Read" and then you know when you get a new one.
I get very few notifications in my email. I have it set for 3 notifications.

Would editing your notification preferences be helpful?

When I clicked on the URL you placed in the above message, the new window Managing Notifications in Family Search Community came up. There were 5 steps to follow: Click on picture at the top of screen
Click on Edit Profile
Click on Notification Preferences
Click on Email or Popup
Save (chanes)
However, when I left clicked on my photo icon, the follow instructions drop down in a small window:
Settings
Source box
sign out
When I clicked on Settings a new window appeared and I clicked on Notifications
In the next window there were two listings:
Text Messages and
Email Messages
No Save
So I saw nothing where I could change getting emails plus two notifications in FS

I also went into Permissions
There I revoked Unnder Partner Access everything except Family Search Community.
Is that what I am suppose to revoke? I thought if I revoked that, then I would not be able to submit questions.

Hello@LenoreAkerson1,
It looks like you are trying to find Notifications in FamilySearch. However, the instructions are for the community.
- Sign in to the Community.
- Click on your icon or photo at the top right of the screen.
- Click on Edit Profile.
- To the right, under your name and email address, click on Notification Preferences.
- Now you can proceed to turn on or off the notifications you would like to receive in the Community.
Best Wishes!
