How do we know how many computers we are authorized to have in our Family History Center?
I am serving as the Stake Family History Consultant for our Family History Center. I called FHC Tech support this week on a totally different issue, but I found out we were authorized to have 8 computers in our center and we only have 4. Apparently when the new computers were sent in December, we were supposed to keep the old computers but I was not informed. We sent the old ones in for surplus and set up the 4 new ones.
Exactly how are we supposed to know when we are getting replacement computers or additional computers? And how long do we have to wait before we can get 4 more computers? We've been waiting for 5 years to get additional computers, so it is heartbreaking that we got some and were not informed that we could keep the old ones.

Stephanie,
In general, how many computers are sent to a Family History Center is decided by the Family History Department. The FH department considers patron use of a center and use of current computers as they determine the number of new computers to provide to the center.
If you and the priesthood leadership over the Family History Center believe that you need additional computers to meet the needs of your patrons, you can request additional computers. Again, the decision to grant the request rests with the Family History department.
To request additional computers, please look at the FamilySearch help center article, "Where can I find the Family History Computer Hardware and Software order form?"
The most efficient way to expedite processing of the request is to call FamilySearch support and select the option for Family History Center support. FHC support will fill out the form with your help and send the request to the appropriate department.

Can you verify if the 4 computers you have are Windows 10?
Were the 4 computers that you sent back Windows 7 computers?
See the notes from @Jones Sharon above.

Our center is the Provo Utah Bonneville Stake Family History Center. I will send the number in a PM.
My question isn't how to get additional computers. My question is how do you know when you've gotten additional computers and not replacement computers.
I was told this week that we are authorized to have 8 computers, and the 4 computers we received in December were supposed to be additional computers, not replacements for the 4 that we had. The 4 we had are long gone now because I followed the instruction on how to surplus computers. I have been told in the past that we aren't allowed to keep the old computers because we are only authorized to use a certain number of computers because of licensing.

Private message me your phone number. And I will call you. Then we can create the Family History Computer Hardware and Software order form together and send that in. I am hoping that since you "Had" 8 computers that the Family History Department will re authorize the additional 4 that you need. I know they look at numbers but I do not know how they figure how many computer a Family History Center needs. With the whole Covid thing numbers are down but maybe they look at prior 2020 numbers to justify the number of computers.
