I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
[ And, one who has worked in "Family History Centres" of the Church, for a number of Years ... ]
FYI
As an aside ...
You are so lucky, that the "Lexmark" Printer, at you local "Family History Centre", even 'Scans' to 'FamilySearch'.
The "Lexmark" Printer, at you local "Family History Centre", in our 'neck of the woods' (ie. NOT "North America"), has NOT been able to 'Scans' to 'FamilySearch', for years.
And, both, ("Family History Centre") "Support"; and, the "Technicians", have NOT been able to get it to do so.
just consider yourselves lucky, that the "Lexmark" Printer, at you local "Family History Centre", even 'Scans' to 'FamilySearch' - that is a blessing.

Im not familiar with that scanner
but virtually any scanner has settings to control resolution, color, and fiel format
and virtually any scanner has high resolution scanning.
play with the scanning parameters and make sure your DPI is at least 300 dpi
someone probably just adjusted the setting to a lower resolution and it just needs to be set back.
