May I join the tech talks?
I am the temple and family history leader in my ward. We have opened our ward building temple and family history center to the public and are getting a little traffic. It is really exciting.
May I join this group and the the tech talk meetings on the 1st Thursday? I would love to have the links to the class.

Yes you May. Thank you for joining the Community.
If you open groups, on the left side of the screen, in the small search box type Tech. The Tech Support will show, click on that. When you get to the Tech support group look in top right corner for a sign in box,
sign in.
If not there is ok, Then click the join button. You will see under "Upcoming events" The time of the meeting for your area. On September 2nd come into the group and click to join the meeting and you will be in.
While on the Tech Support group I would encourage you to look around at some of the things that are hear for leaders. Unser quick links, you can do your monthly reports, access you centers email and look at the Articles and Tools spread sheet. There is a wealth of information there. You can look at the power points for the past zoom meetings.

I am the Temple and Family History Leader in my ward, and I am a staff member in the Family History Center at Geneva Heights Family History Center. I think that the information could be useful in the classes I teach.

Yes, Brother Howe, and you would be most welcome. The instruction presented by genbug at the beginning of this conversation will guide you to the group that will have all of the information you need and/or want.

My assistant director spoke with FH tech in Salt Lake a few months ago and was told that our computers (we have 12 of them) should be updated every 2 weeks. Exactly what is supposed to be updated? Where are the instructions and links to the articles concerning the updates? I think I have read every article under the computer category and have found nothing addressing updates- what kind of updates? How often should updates be done? Could someone enlighten me and give me links? Thank you. Shirley Rogers- Director

If you go to the Tech support group, Link below, sign in and join. Click on Articles and tools spreadsheet, on the spreadsheet click on line 222. This is the power point from the Tech Talk guys zoom meeting. If you look at slides 3 and 4 tells you about updating your computers.
Also you can see the link for the Tech Talk zoom meeting, I would suggest you try and attend the December meeting, a lot of question are answered.
