How can I have this record amended?
Wonder if someone could change the way this Death notice was indexed. They put the name of the Sanatorium's Ward Matron name as the deceased's mother, which is causing alot of confusion.
The edit button is not working for me, how can I have this info removed or changed?
M. Leibbrandt (Matron) - was indexed as Lambertus Gerhardus Phillipus Ferreira 's Mother.
thanks

@Rolanda Helena Godfrey, I am sorry that you have found the index to have this problem and not allow you to edit the incorrect information. I know that it can be frustrating, as it can cause confusion.
Unfortunately, for this type of an error, there is little chance that it will be corrected.
Fortunately, the index error did not preclude you from finding the principle person, Lambertus Gerhardus Phillipus Ferreira, and the associated original record. This is the primary purpose of the index. Having found the original record for this person, it is important that our focus move from the index to the original record. This generally eliminates any confusion.
When this record is attached to an individual, as in Family Tree, it is helpful to address the error and incorrect information so that others are not confused. This can be done easily in the Notes section of the the Source documentation.

Hi Mike,
Thank you fort your reply. Unfortunately this is the problem. We are not sure who his parents are, it could be several different Ferreira couples, as we are unable to find his baptism record.
We know he was born in Willowmore in the Cape and according to his marriage certificate we found on line, he would have been born either 1903 or 1904. We have had a look at some records for those years, but somehow we cannot locate baptism records for Willowmore in the Cape, South Africa. Whenever I type this name in the catalog, it brings it up, but refers to another link, when I then click on that link, it takes me back to the original link, and I can't seem to get out of this loop.
I have posted on the FS SA facebook page, and everytime, they come back with his mother was Liebbrandt... after I explain the mix up, they seem to lose interest or unable to find anything else.
Would you be able to suggest a link for that specific date and location that actually works?
Thanks
Rolanda
