August 25, 2021 in Indexing

I was working on a batch of Virginia marriages from 1886, Grayson County, and did seven couples per night. When I signed in to finish it tonight, it was gone. I'm requesting that you say when batches are to expire because had I known I'd have made sure that I finished before the expiration date.

The batch due date is visible when you are on your indexing home page. (See below) However, the batches expire at midnight GMT of the due date. That can be several hours earlier for you. Your work is saved and another indexer will finish the batch for you.

I've been indexing a very long time and this still happens to me sometimes, so I understand the disappointment. Thanks for your work!
