In the US—City and Business Directories, 1749–1990 [Part C][M346-P55] it has been indexed as from Cincinati, Ohio. I can not find that anywhere on the page and thus don't know where thay got that information, and thus can not verify that it is correct

The Indexer is playing detective, which the Researcher is allowed to do, but the Indexer is not. Under Surname Porter you will find this listing.

The Directory Place is not given at the top of the page, so it is to be indexed as Ctrl+B (<Blank>) just as the Directory Date correctly was, because it also was not given there.

We don’t infer the Directory Place from ads according to the What To Remember About This Project Section of the Project Instructions.

    • Do not use places listed in an advertisement as the directory place.

Likewise we don’t infer the Directory Place from a listing like the one I clipped above.
