The reference you sent shows Karen Oleson with Ole Simonson on the Kenilworth down farther, but I can see him and he is from Zion which makes sense, matches our family history, and a Karen is listed there also as his wife. Why would she be listed twice? This is very confusing.

In the picture above, she is no longer listed with Ole but is above with Hans.

Yes, there were divorces in that time period. You might see it mentioned on census records or church records, but there isn't a specific location that I am aware of to search for a specific divorce record. I had no idea what it might mean (from Zion) but as you explained he had been to the US and was returning it makes some sense to me.

Eureka! On the death record for Caroline Henriette Johansen it says she was married to "Smed H. C. Jensen's wife" and inserted above his name is the word "fraskilte" = DIVORCED.

It is very rewarding to find documentation of this man, Hans. It is easy to merge the two records, but I want to know if you want to do it or want me to. Before merging I need to know which death record is accurate, I believe it is the Brigham burial, does that agreee with your records? Let me know what you think is best and I can do whatever you would like with adding sources.

Lori, I'm sorry I don't think I know your mother (I'm old too
. I've lived in Brigham since 1975 so I might recognize her. I'm happy to do the merging and add sources so others will recognize it is accurate. It is best to keep your own records so it doesn't matter if someone else makes changes. I put a "watch" (see the little star in FamilySeach) on all my important cases so others know I will be notified if they make a change. This is good because you find out quickly and can communicate kindly with others about changes.
It does feel great that I could help a "local man" get his records in order. It's a great story for your family. Do note the original confirmation (LDS) dates for Hans Christian 1862 and his son Christian (from first marriage) 1864.

Lori, I asked native Danes to translate the more detailed note in the death records for Caroline. Here is their transcription and translation.
"Om Manden Mormon i Utah, endnu Lever er ubekjendt." "it is unknown if her husband, a Mormon in Utah, is still alive". On one record it says "Blodstyrtning" as being the cause of her death. The word isn't an exact explanation to why she died. In English it means 'violent haemorrhage' and that could mean either violent acute bleeding from her lounges (maybe from tuberculosis), violent bleeding from her stomach, from giving birth (unlikely in the age of 69) or from the intestines (because of alcoholism)…? She died from a loss of blood for some reason.

This is so interesting, I have the same baptism date for him, one more indication they are the same person. The comment about him being a Mormon in Utah is such a great tidbit. Please do the merge and add all the documentation. I lost his sealing to his parents when the record was altered and I didn't think to just restore. I original sealing was in the EH in 1870 and I don't know how to add it to the record now. I just added it in a marriage note, but the sealing doesn't need to be done again. I didn't look to see if one was listed for the second record. If you know how to add it let me know. Thanks so much for your help! I'll be eager to see all the changes added.

Changes to temple ordinance dates can only be corrected by proper authority in Salt Lake City. This can be requested through "help" in FamilySearch (top right of home page). Explain that you want the original dates to show. It's an important part of the individuals life to reflect when he/she chose to join the church, etc.
