Lost album
@CarolAnnStowell1 has posted:
I was reordering photos in my album collections this morning. I moved several photos in my
personal album. When I wanted to go to the next album, the program was "in progress" finishing the moved articles for several minutes. I opened another window for another project and still the album had not updated and closed. I decided to just close out of FS and so something else. I just went back in and my personal photo album is gone! It is not in the deleted items…how can I recover it? Help!!

also keep in mind - - even if you inadvertantly deleted an album - that does not mean the items that were part of the album get deleted. Such items should still be in your gallery - just not linked to that now gone album.
Items within an album do not get deleted when you delete an album.0 -
. . . I have however noted the following possibly related issues with what you discuss
- if you are trying to move items from one album to another (or from gallery to an album) - you can usually only do a hundred or so at a time. If you do more than that at some point it will just get stuck in limbo and you get a "processing" item that never returns. (the #100 is not a magic number - just that if you overload the process with too many items selected this is what happens). the actual number can vary on the workload of the system - it may be as high as 200 or more. My experience has been that if the operation doesn't return within about 30 seconds or so - it will probably never return and you have to do a force refresh of the page.
- if you face scenario #1 and you try to get out of the processing mode - like refreshing your page or something - you may find that either nothing was moved - or some of the items were moved but not others.
- either way - doing a move of items - - I have never seen it remove/delete an album - but the items may or may not end up where you expected - the items/album should never end up deleted even if the operation of moving fails. (the items should still be in your gallery)
- I always try to let a process finish before I start a new process. At times that may require "force ending" a process by refreshing the page.
- as discussed before - deleting an album does not delete the items in the album (they will still be in your gallery).

Dennis is correct. Items added to or removed from an Album remain in your "My Memories" folder in your Gallery. They are not deleted by removing them from an Album, even if removing them was an accident.
If they aren't in your "My Memories" folder (or in "Recently Deleted") then they may be in "My Archive", the folder right below "My Memories".
If you have a lot of memories, you can search in "My Memories" or in "My Archive" by clicking the magnifying glass in the upper right. This allows you to search for Title, Description, or even name if the memory is attached to a person.
When adding memories to a new album, I generally add 10 to 20 to the album. Then drag those ones into "My Archive" (which does actually move them and basically marks them as "Done", imo). I don't generally try to move more than this as it takes longer and, as Dennis said, if you move too many at the same time it's more likely to time out.
Let us know if you are still struggling to find them! I understand it's very frustrating and we're happy to help if this didn't resolve the issue.0 -
. . . that being said
when you said "album is gone" (which we assumed meant album was deleted)
did you really mean that the album no longer exists - OR RATHER that the album itself exists - but is empty.
those are two different scenarios. But either way - your items that were in that album - should still exist (though in your gallery) and you may need to re-add them to any desired folder.
again - only process items in chunks of less then 100 items or you may run into issues.0
