Adding a comment to a Memories Item - and notifying the submitter.
@Dennis J Yancey has posted:
Adding a comment to a memories item - is not so much obvious as it used to be.
You can still do it - by clicking on the "I' (information) icon and then clickingon the 3rd of three icons that show up on the top of the message bar.
HOWEVER - contrary to what many people think - adding a comment does NOT send a message notification to the submitter (like it did various years back)
It appears this may actually be intentional and not just a bug.
Whenever you have a message about an item that you want the submitter to read - you should direct message the submitter - (clicking their user id and then clicking chat)
Also dont just assume that the message will include the link to the item in question. Some times it does - sometimes it doesnt - so always include that in your chat message.
Also some people have their email marked as public - and you will see their email address. This is another way to try and contact the submitter.
Conversely - To note that an item YOU have submitted has a comment from a user - you will notice a number count next to the comment icon. (very small and not eye catching and not even obvious/intuitive as to what it means — but its there)

@Dennis J Yancey is correct with his notes above.
When you make a "Comment" on a Memory, the person who owns/uploaded that Memory is not notified. This function has been turned off. However, the Engineers are aware. Changes to the Memory Viewer are ongoing, and we might see this function return.

This functionality was turned off long before the change in the memory viewer.
and I have reasons to believe it was intentional. I dont have much hope in it being re-actviated.
Though the truth is thousands of comments - that were once almost always read - are now just going unseen - I wish FS would at least let people know when they make comments - that no one acually gets notified.0 -
and I really dont like it that this was moved to the Memories Viewer feedback
this has nothing to do with the memories viewer upgrade
this functionality was disabled like about 2 years before that.
I just wanted people who browse the Memories category to see this issue and be aware.
There was no need to move it to the feedback group!0
