Translation help
Hello,
I am looking at June 17, 1644 - Record from Zollikon, Zurich. The father is Hans Heinrich Thomann and Mother is Magdalena Abegg. There son is Marx, but there are quite a few words before his name and I am wondering what is happening. Did he pass away right after?
Thank you.

Hello,
I cannot help you right now (see below) - but let me make a few comments - just my personal view, as I cannot speak for others.
1) I spend a fair amount of time trying to help people in this community - but also my time is limited. Consequently - if there is a queue, I start with requests attracting my attention: "Translation help" doesn't. If you look at the list of topics, you will soon get an impression what attracts my attention. BTW - I had posted a suggestion "What title would be best for postings?" some time ago - and we had discussed this before (remember?). A suggested title for your posting could be Zollikon ZH - baptism - 1644 - Thomann - added info?. That would attract my attention.
2) You give a link. Unfortunately I cannot access the file from home - access is blocked: this is the case for several cantons in Switzerland, including Zürich. You have to provide a copy of the page - or wait until someone with access (i.e. visiting a familysearch centre) responds to your request (which excludes me).
3) When supplying a copy, you should provide full pages, not just snippets from a page - see my comments on this issue.
4) Unfortunately these images cannot be uploaded to the community at the moment due to some technical problems. A work-around has been posted - but has a major shortcoming: the service people involved seem to reduce resolution to reduce file size. In some cases this may not be a problem - in others it will make transcription more difficult (= more time consuming) or make it even impossible to transcribe with confidence (and at least I will not get involved with guessing). In several posts I have seen that image files have been uploaded to (free) upload servers - and just the links were posted here. In many cases this might be the method of choice.
Best regards - (no name, which would be removed by admin anyway, telling me to stick to the rules)

Putting "statim post partum mortua est" into google translate says "she died immediately after giving birth." I I take that to mean the mother died. Not sure what the rest of the entry says after Max's name, however.

I created a new source in the person page for Marx Thomann (PID GYNW-954) that has the image for the baptism record for Marx. The URL is below:

Well - here we have an example what happens if no meaningful title is given - and a question is asked twice. This question had already been discussed (and answered) on Zollikon ZH - baptism - 1644 - Thomann - additional text?.
I have now edited the title and hope the confusion is clarified.
