Dear Camille,
I would like to know if Chernihiv Ukraine was Russian in 1926 the year of my mother Stanislawa Seoplas's birth.
She was Greek Orthodox so I wonder if our church has any digital records that might help me find her parents. Would you have to access Russian civic archives in a major city to find her birth records...thank you for all your help...much appreciate you...Donna

Donna, in 1926 Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union and was called the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. The Family History Library does not have church or civil records that recent for that town. I do not have access to Ukrainian civil archives as I live in the United States.
