A family has been mixed up with another of the same names, what is the easiest tool to rectify wrong sources.

There is really no "easiest tool." It's not a difficult process, but it does require patience and attention to detail.
I've just spent the last 3 days teasing apart the conflation of at least 3 couples with a spouse "Joseph S" and wife "Mary." They lived about the same time, but in different English counties and then some settled in different locations in the USA.

It's relatively simple to detach a source from one Joseph and then attach it to the correct Joseph. Then we have to be sure that the children are attached to the correct parents, detaching from one couple and attaching to another.

We also need to delete the incorrect events or residences from one family and, hopefully, add them to the correct family. Detaching the source doesn't remove the event or residence from the profile page.

    two steps 'detach' and 're-attach'

    1. Using Source Linker to detach sources – FamilySearch Help Center
Once you detach the source from the other profile, you can attach it to the person in the right column of Source Linker.
    2. Re-attaching detached sources — FamilySearch Community
