@Sandra89161 Hi can you provide an example or a person with his/or her ID number and say why that person needs to be "deleted" so that someone can better assist?

There is a person on my family tree named Renola Clapp. She did not exist, must have been confused with my mother, nee Zenola Clapp born in North Dakota in 1908.

Renola Clapp's ID no. is GBP1-CJR. This needs to be deleted as this person never existed.

We cannot delete profiles unless no other user has ever edited them.

This profile is either a genuine person who should be in another family's part of the Tree, in which case it is the relationship to your family that needs removing, or a duplicate of your mother, in which case you can merge her into your mother's profile.

One point I note is that Renola's 1930 census source does say Zenola if you look carefully, but it could easily be misread as Renola:

(The indexed record unhelpfully omits her, but she's there on the image.) Does the residence of Spokane Falls, Washington State match your mother's residence in 1930, and indeed do the other family members match your family? If not, then this Renola is not your mother. If everything matches, I'd go ahead and do the merge, with a clear reason statement.

@Carol84486 - Being a distant relative myself, I see that @MandyShaw1 is correct that Renola was typo and a duplicate of Zenola; I have merged them. It is not uncommon for duplicate entries to be created from a single source. It is important as stated above to either find the family the entry fits into, or merge them into the correct person; do not delete them as having "never existed".

I have done some more cleanup on the FS entry, but have left several sources to be linked to her husband and extended family for you to follow up on. When you use SourceLinker, be sure and link all family members that you can. Look for additional information that you did not have before. Enter this in to the Person profile, and the system will be better able to help find even more sources and relationships. For example, in looking over Zenola's marriage record, we learn the maiden name of her mother which was listed only as: "Mabel F"; now with a maiden name of Tweeton. In taking a quick look at Zenola's sister - Audrey, we see a record with Tweeton again, confirming the name.

Good luck and have fun sourcing and growing the Tree!
