Ancestry link to FamilySearch

When I compare an Ancestry record with FamilySearch through Ancestry, I chose which information to automatically update each end. When I select an Ancestry source, most often, the link that lands up on FamilySearch is useless. It simply provides a search screen instead of a link to the Ancestry record.

To allow others to view the source even without an Ancestry subscription, use the Ancestry share link.
    It's a curved arrow.

I use both the share link and the direct link to the image, putting the direct link in the Notes section.

I have tested it and it does seem to work well. I have been clipping the link in the address bar on Ancestry and copying that as a direct link. The so-called direct link that gets uploaded to FamilySearch most often just points to and Ancestry search screen, which is not very useful. I have had it land on FS with the direct link that works, but I don't know what makes the difference.

If you want to share a link or a profile where you've had a problem, we can probably figure it out for you.
