bridget feeney left ireland in 1871 with 7 children. scudamore strokestown ohio. she had died

in 1892 these are the 2 familys trying to f ind the cousin connnection.

also tryin to the passenger lists. of bridget feeney. and mary feeney patrick joesph feeneys sister

How is John FEENEY b 1850 d. 1901 md Sarah Conroy (lived in Roscommon, Ireland
– related to Bridget FEENEY Roscommon, Ireland b. 1829, d. 1892 in Ohio
Members of both families are trying to find the common ancestor.
It seems likely that there is a common ancestor because of the family story about Patrick, son of John, son of John being “married to his his 1st cousin, his aunt being his father’s sister”, AND because of the similar naming patterns.
Most likely theory is that (??) Feeney b. ca 1790 is the father of John b. ca 1820 and Bridget b. 1829. Patrick may have stayed with his GREAT-aunt, Bridget b 1829, who may have been a sister to his GRANDfather, John b. ca 1820, making Patrick and “Bea” SECOND, not first cousins.
Unfortunately, the Catholic records for that time period in Roscommon are scant, hard to read when found and likely not all available online. NO BIRTH record has been found for Bridget b. 1829, and there are NUMEROUS JOHN FEENEYs b. in the early 1800s.
The lack of surviving census records until 1901 has also made it difficult to trace the families through the years.

1st family:
John FEENEY, b. 1820? D. before 1871 when son John was married per marriage record.
Son John FEENEY, GDDV-ZW4 b. 1850, d. 1901, all in Roscommon, Ireland; he married Sarah Conroy in 1871.
Ch: Winefred 1875, John Joseph 1878, Patrick J 1883, Agnes Bridget 1888, Charles 1896 and Bernard 1897.
Their son Patrick LKNW-FMT went to America about 1910. A descendant has claimed that
1) when Patrick arrived he stayed “with his aunt, sister of his father, who had preceded him”.
2) He married that aunt’s daughter Mary Louise Grant LKNW-F9Y; they were therefore 1st cousins.

2nd family:
Bernard FEENEY GPZP-CVP b. 1820, d. 1864 in Roscommon; he married Bridget FEENEY P83W-2MT (b. 1829 d 1892 in Ohio). No marriage record has been found to confirm that her maiden name was FEENEY, but children’s records all say FEENEY not another maiden name.
About 1870, and after Bernard died, she moved to the US. They had had at least 7 children, i.e. Bernard J. 1844, Patrick, Maria, John J., Winifred, James J and Bridget “Bea”.
Their son John J. was NOT the same as Patrick’s father. This John was b. 1858, immigrated with his mother to Ohio, married Catherine Killeen, and died 1932 in Ohio.
Their daughter Bridget “Bea” P8V8-W8R was b. 1864 (no birth/baptism record found). She arrived with her mother in the US; in about 1887, she married John Grant; they had 5 children, including
Mary Louise GRANT, LKNW-F9Y b. 1891. This is the daughter that married Patrick FEENEY, LKNW-FMT son of John, son of John
