Cemetery Section sort by my relatives stopped working

The cemetery section has an option to sort by your relatives. This used to work, however I noticed today that it stopped working. It doesn't work on the main display when selected, also if I go into individual cemetery's and try to sort it also isn't working. I have tried on several cemeteries, including ones that I know this feature would should hundreds of relatives before when it worked and none of them show anything when the sort by relatives is enabled.

    @jaredallenjohnson1 I have just tried this on several cemeteries where a number of my relatives (including my parents) are buried. I can confirm that none are listed when I filter on Only show my relatives. They were previously listed on the filtered list. They are still listed when I don't filter the output.

    As described in Case number 2855021 submitted 7/10/2026, the feature to "Only show my relatives", has not been working for about 3 weeks now. As illustrated by the screen shots included it does not matter which cemetery you try to click on "Only show my relatives" the result is the same "Sorry, no relatives found"

    We've been using this to assist visitors here at the Nauvoo FamilySearch Center daily and it is an amazing feature to assist patrons find their relatives that lived here in Nauvoo.

    Thanks

    One thing I will note. Unsure if its related or not (probably not, though as I think these cemetery list are based on it maybe?) . I also noticed that they recently changed the standardization for every single find-a-grave record in the last few weeks or so. So maybe that being updated broke it?

    Also this update is probmatic for anouther reason. I might need to make a new thread for this.
    Rather then basing the location that find-a-grave gives it looks like they are solo using the cemetery name. This is probmatic as lots of locations in different states have the same name. Looking though my family tree about half to a quarter of the find-a-grave records I am coming across are now suggesting locations that are just wrong(another state, country, and I have even seen a few wrong country haha). Of coarse if you follow the link to find-a-grave you get the correct location. These standardizations really probably should be done by combining the cemetery name+loc find-a-grave gives and then throwing that to whatever algorithm familysearch uses to generate the standardization for its records. Would appreciate if this feedback gets passed on to someone at familysearch.

    @jaredallenjohnson1

    The issue with incorrect standardization of cemetery names with Find A Grave has been reported many times. The most complete discussion of the topic can be found at Why are there wildly different places on this document?

    As you can see in that discussion, the issue has been passed on to FamilySearch Engineering. They are well aware of the problem. It's thoughtful of you to report these details, but at this point the Engineering team needs no further input on this particular issue.

    I just came across this issue as well. Have there been any updates on a resolution?

    @Nancy9,879 Are you asking about the original (title) issue of the filtering on relatives not working, or the other issue raised by the OP of the place name standardisation? They are separate issues.

    The filtering issue relates to the cemetery search. That functionality has a banner:

    We hope you enjoy the Cemeteries Search. Please keep in mind that this feature is experimental and has limited support.

    The cemetery search generated several posts soon after it was introduced. In particular, they were asking about how its data was populated. Nobody from FamilySearch responded with information apart from one post from a moderator who briefly alluded to the data being "built". So, it seems that this issue might not be addressed with any great urgency.

    The standardisation of place names issue has, as @Alan E. Brown has said, been reported at length. Presumably, this will get higher priority for resolution.

    Yes! I am having this same problem. The filter for "my relatives" on the Cemetery Search site is not working. When I activate the "my relatives" selection, the entire map shows that there are no cemeteries, no locations, and no information. I use this feature quite a bit. Is there any chance that this feature is going to be up and running again as it used to? It's a great asset and I miss it. fredbailor
