Research help for Charles Porter 1813-1889
Hello, I am looking for the parents or just any new Information that could help me find the parents of Charles Porter 1813-1889

Not exactly my area of "expertise" but I have taken a quick look for any clues / leads that might be of help.
Firstly, I see this Charles Porter is not to be confused with LW4K-TFP, who is quite well documented (although I just added an 1865 census record to his Sources).
The search page at Search Results - Charles Porter 1810-1816 just might provide some clues, although many of the items do relate to LW4K-TFP. I made my search by removing the "Exact" qualification for the first name, as a variant (like "Chas", or including a middle name / initial) produces some extra results, as does an extended date range for his possible year of birth. (I would not trust census, or even death / burial records, to provide an accurate YOB, as even those attached to GQF2-QVL are inconsistent.)
Hopefully, someone with a more detailed knowledge of Massachusetts records will provide more specific advice regarding the likelihood of tracing his parents.

I've just seen @Áine.ní.Donnghaile has added an 1860 census record to GQF2-QVL - noting it to be (as per my suggestion above) in the name of "Chas" (not Charles) Porter!

In the 1860 census, Charles, wife Mary, and their daughter are adjacent to Mary Cromp's mother and siblings, making it an easy choice and find.
There were multiple sets of Mary Cromp's family, so I've been merging those. Sometimes cleaning up the extras will reveal more details.
There are limited-access burial registers for the Bellmont area. I'm hoping those may reveal more info.

The 1880 census was the first to list parents' birthplaces. Charles reported this:
Father's Birthplace
Massachusetts, United States
Mother's Birthplace
Maine, United States
This information isn't always accurate, but often a decent starting place.

There are some 87 public trees on Ancestry for Charles Porter and Mary Cromp and their family.
Most of them have parents listed for Charles Porter, but there is no supporting evidence attached.
Massachusetts has good early records, but we need more information to know if any of the registered births or baptisms belong to Charles GQF2-QVL.
Charles was ~20 years older than Mary Cromp. He certainly might have been married before.

I visited my Affiliate Library this afternoon. Unfortunately nothing useful found in the limited-access burial registers.
