Assisting guest. Please verify that restrictions on film 193958 are correct. https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/catalog/koha:20662

We note that some films in collected have viewable images and some do not. Seems very random. Items do not seem to be the issue.

    After exploring this collection, I agree it warrants a closer look. All records share the same custodial archive, the date ranges appear accurate, and while place names and record types are not entirely uniform throughout, there is no clear or consistent pattern to explain why some records are restricted and others are not. It will be sent it in for review but please inform guest that this may take some time to be addressed.

    I'm having real problems figuring out how to effectively communicate with 'community'. I asked for an update to this 193958 problem, by selecting @karenrasmussen. This method of communication failed for reasons unknown to me. The update request was for some idea of what the definition of "may take some time" implies.

    In the mean time a similar problem has appeared with film 493258. I (a 'guest') used to be able to view/search this film at my local LDS church/FamilySearch library (unit number 3372359), but now those computers are, apparently, being locked-out to this film… except if one logs in as an LDS member. This unit number has experienced similar, and even worse, restriction problems in the past - problems which took months to resolve (and no one at the unit was ever updated. "We" had to go in once a week to see if any progress had been made. The cause of the problem(s) was(were) never disclosed.).

    FYI: This unit number has no IT specialist. I suspect that this is true for all of the units in Curry County, Oregon.

    @mark nast
    Good morning.
    There is a new process, just instituted this past week, for reporting Records Access issues.
    You'll find it at the top of the Search category.

    FYI, KarenRasmussen had asked the question in this thread, on behalf of a guest she was assisting. She was not the person answering the question.
    Hope this helps.
