Index errors
I suspect that a whole bunch of records have been incorrectly indexed. I can't view the originals to identify the cause. From various other sources like census records and death certificates I think that the indexed birth/christening dates/years are not accurate and roughly a decade out.
These all relate to the Parish of Urray from the period 1790-1810. By way of example

The record suggests that Anne MacPherson was born 8th May 1802
I believe that 1811 would be more accurate

The birth date is showing as 18th Jan 1797.
Having viewed census records, Marriage records and death certificate I believe that his birth date would have been in 1807.
This pattern repeats across all siblings that I have checked (6-7).
Any help appreciated.

I have not spent the credits to view the original but ScotlandsPeople - which is the only place to see the images - has 20 May 1802 for Anne MacPherson. Any serious discussion about correct indexing needs to start with those images, rather than "believing" something deduced from other sources.
So you can view the originals - you just need to spend cash to do so.
NB - you may need to invoke "Fuzzy matching" on ScotlandsPeople because of variations between MacPherson and McPherson.

I visited my FSC today and viewed some of the records mentioned in the original post in this thread.
I am not permitted to share images, but I am permitted to transcribe or extract the information.
On Image 145 of 365 on DGS 7907485 is written
Anne Dau of John Macpherson & Mary Noble his Spouse in Tammich born & was baptized 20th May 1802
On Image 138 of 365 on the same DGS is written (vertically in the margin)
John son to John McPherson and Mary Noble in Tomick was born the 18th and baptized the 24 January 1797
