WWII Ohio Draft Card - Indexing Disappeared
I came across this WWII draft card from Ohio.

Before attaching it to M57T-RWG, I did what I always do: Complete the Indexing. I did that, plus added his wife.
Once I completed the indexing, there was some message stating something like "we can't tell if this is a match" Or "we can't tell if it's attached" and there wasn't a way to attach the source.
I then refreshed, and POOF! all the indexing is gone! Both the new indexing I did (including the wife), but also all the old the indexing that was there before I started. Just a message stating it hasn't been indexed (but it had been!)
Please help.
And now on the Details, on the right hint section it states:
We're unable to show this record.
This record can only be displayed on certain accounts. FamilySearch must honor the agreements we have with our partners, record owners, and internal policies.

@Nyx773 Thank you for your detailed explanation. It appears the problem with permissions being lost during edits has recurred. I am unsure if it relates to the restricted WWII records from Michigan and Nebraska, but both concerns will be brought to the attention of engineers.

All the problems previously experienced with the WWII cards for Michigan and Ohio are still happening. Now I'm having problems with WWI draft cards for Pennsylvania.
I just had a similar experience for Paul/Paolo Iesue GFBP-6WV. I don't think I changed/added any indexing yet (but maybe I did). Because there wasn't a year listed for the registration (only month and day), I scrolled to the left, then the right to see the dates on other cards.
The next record (to the right) is a draft card for his brother Domenico Iesue G19G-9X8. It is not indexed at all. I then created a source for my source box and attached it to both profiles (since the latter listed the former as his next of kin).

After googling to find out the specific dates that the WWI draft happened, in order to complete the indexing for Paul GFBP-6WV, I then went back to his profile.

But now, when clicking on the hint for Paul's WWI draft card, it states:
We're unable to show this record.

Since the record is next to his brother's, I am able to find it. Here it is, but now all the pre-existing indexing has disappeared!

What is going on?
Am I jinxed? 😜 It's getting to the point that I'm afraid to click on any draft card and risk it imploding.

Many images in this image group have no indexed data. By going to the last link specified in the previous post, I could scroll around, and jump to various random images. It seems that at least half of the images throughout the whole group have no indexed data. There isn't any obvious reason why some images are indexed and others aren't.

I've reviewed this and found it affects twenty-two states in the WWI collection. At this point, it's unclear if user actions are causing loss of permissions or if it's something else.
I won't be able to meet with engineering until next week, but your insights will be helpful. Stay tuned for updates.

I'm not sure if it is from the same cause/effect, but I recently noticed that the image is unavailable for my grandfather's WWII draft. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XRK2-TZR?lang=en
I probably tried to edit it at some point because the index is in the name of Michael, but the card is in the name of William. His nickname was "Mike" (typical for an Irish fireman). Michael has been struck through and "Wm" written in pencil above.

@SerraNola I have some updates. In summary:

For the Michigan WWII Draft Registration records I reported on 19 January, 2026:🤔 There is no longer a hint on the Details Tab for Leonard Leone GQDJ-56X. I have no idea if the record that was being hinted in January was correct or not.
Doing a search from the Details Tab comes up with a WWII draft card for a different man named Leonard Leone (residence and occupations are different, birth city is probably also different).😩 The image is still not visible and hence also not editable for: Nicola John Leone 1942 draft card, part of the 3rd Registration held 16 February 1942
😊 The images are available again for a couple of Michigan records that I checked that were for the 4th Registration (Old Man's Draft) held 27 April 1942

Here is what I remember doing:
The card was indexed as Toney Karpinksi.
I added an aka name, per his signature: "*ntoni Karpinski".
I completed indexing it.
I also completed indexing for his already linked mother - no name given, so I called her "Mrs Karpinksi".
I kept "Russia Poland" as the "country" of his birth and used "Kingdom of Poland, Russian Empire" as the "place". I also used that as the residence for his mother.Here is the card from Ancestry:

@Nyx773 The WWI records are really touchy during the editing process. I've had some lose permissions just by adding the age.
I see this was edited today. In mid May, engineering restored all (or at least most) WWI records lost by editing. Now we need to understand why it is still happening. I standardized the date of registration, just in case that was the problem. Any WWI records that were indexed with "after 1917" (showing now in the drop down) are still restricted—obviously because there is no end date.
WWII records have yet to be worked on, as they ran into a snag that looks like it will take time to untangle.

@SerraNola Thanks for the quick response and fix of the WWI draft card for Toney Karpinski.
I've been chatting for a few days with someone from Europe and we are trying to determine if her Antoni Karpiński is the same Antoni Karpinski I worked on (the husband of a descendant of a sibling-in-law of my great-grandparent). This WWI draft card might be part of the puzzle or may be for a different man all together.
