AI Research Assistant - Changes to sources it uses during a chat (via the Banker Box)
Hello FamilySearch Community,
I wanted to share some feedback and suggestions regarding the AI Research Assistant and how it handles sources:
- View All Sources Used – The AI Research Assistant shows all sources it uses during a chat (via the Banker Box). This is helpful, but it would be even better to have the ability to remove new sources that do not belong to the person. For example, see ID K64L-K3L.
- Source Titles – It would be helpful to have an option to use the titles of the sources attached to the person. Currently, FamilySearch often has multiple titles for the same source (default title, changed by guests, indexed title, etc.)
- Sorting Options – Give users the option to sort sources by date or other criteria to make reviewing them easier.
- Viewed Source Links – It would improve usability if source links changed color once they were viewed, so users can quickly see which sources they have already checked.
- Be able to refresh the source list after changes have been made on the person page.
These features would make part of AI Research Assistant more efficient and reduce the amount of time it takes review the sources it uses.

I appreciate the opportunity to share. The source documents are already the name of who the record involves.. The information is consistent, no typos. Copy paste the header.
This would also help identify and remove duplicate entries and notify the end user of the source primary person. [Given name] [Surname] [Source] named in the record of tells you what the record is for.
Example, Infant death. What is known, baby, dates, location. Add what is known into a custom event- birth of [given name] copy paste. Unknown age of parent. [about 20 years prior] starting point. At least it gives a starting point for the person following your work.0
