Hello,

I found an 1827 land record in Duplin County mentioning my 4th great-grandfather together with William Watson. My ancestor was probably born around 1805, and I am trying to determine whether William Watson could have been his father. Since my ancestor would have been a young adult at the time, I want to understand what clues in early land records might suggest a father–son relationship, such as joint transactions, inheritance, witnesses, adjoining landowners, or other family associations

The record starts bottom left on the document.

Thank you,

Sandy

@sandy14 I think your list is pretty complete. Only other related record 'set' might be judicial proceedings or court orders
