Can a request to correct an indexed error be made?
Is there a way to submit a request to correct an indexed record with a male/female error or name spelling error for a collection that is not yet editable? I have found a few Italian language records indexed incorrectly. A few people use the index without looking at the original record an make numerous assumptions from that resulting in further errors in the public tree that are difficult to correct and document. It would be easier to fix the index in the first place.

@Cousin Vinny Start with those with the most egregious errors. It will be best if you put them in a format of "here's what's wrong" and "here's what it should be" and with links, of course.

I have been linking ancestors to my family tree using the suggested links on familysearch. There are a great many records which tie to my family line which have been indexed incorrectly. I ignored it for a while but there are so many that I feel that someone needs to look into these records. Here are the links to two different records which have been transcribed in dates during the 1500s instead of the 1700s and 1800s.

The above record shows a death date for Matthias Kindler of 1538. That is not correct. His birthdate is about 1801.

When I try to attach the above record to Luise Haigmaier, PZRL-JR2, the birthdate suggested is 1540 which is incorrect. It should be around 1907
I believe, based upon working with these records for several days, that there are many many (in the hundreds) of records in this batches that were indexed incorrectly and should be reindexed.Can someone look into this?
