Question about the Camera Icon in the FSL Catalogue

See the following link: https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/catalog/koha:157544

The camera icon for me at home is grayed-out and has a small triangle with an exclamation point in the lower right corner of the camera. When I hover over the icon the message is:
This item is viewable with additional restrictions.

FYI: I am a non-Church user.

Does this mean the item is only viewable as a microfilm at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City?

Thank you.

I believe that greyed-out camera with "additional restrictions" is a new wrinkle. I've only been seeing it in the last week or so.
I suppose it may be the replacement for the microfilm reel icon that was confusing for many users.

I think we may need a definitive explanation from @SerraNola or @m how

    I'm also a non-LDS user.

@Robert Seal_1 This thread mentioning "additional restrictions" may help.

    See this link https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/what-are-the-image-restrictions-in-historical-records

    I am also a non-LDS church member.

    The text I see is

    • A camera icon with an exclamation point or alert sign: When you hover over this icon, you see a message that says "This item is viewable with additional restrictions." You may encounter access restrictions that require visiting a FamilySearch Center or using a third-party site to view the records.

I suspect this is the current wording for records that are available if you a LDS church member, (probably on home computers), but are not available at all the non church members, even at the library in Salt Lake City.

A Church member needs to say if my suspicion is right or wrong.

These are the correct date ranges for the items on that film:

As you can see items 3 and 4 contain more recent records. As to why Items 1 and 2 are not available—if the custodian has not stipulated that nothing on the film can be accessed (which I don't think is the case for this German collection) then it is because the system is still honoring the old acquisition-contract rules. In other words, they have not yet been updated or reconfigured to use the dates for the Item #'s. I think our films are being "divided" faster than our "permissions engine" can update. Sorry for the delay in access.

To answer you questions about the grayed out icon, Áine was correct that it is the replacement for the confusing microfilm reel. However, when I hover I now get this message which is what it should be:

This item is currently not available due to access restrictions."

I can't guarantee this film is available in the SL Library as I couldn't locate it in their catalog. It would be wise to make a phone call before making the trip!

We very much appreciate all you do to research your own families as well as help others in the Community. I promise this is not the case, "this is the current wording for records that are available if you a LDS church member, (probably on home computers), but are not available at all the non church members, even at the library in Salt Lake City." I am seeing the very same thing you are: a greyed-out camera with an exclamation mark next to it. "Additional restrictions" can be many things. It is often the case that the records custodian has changed the permissions. Have any of you tried to view this record at the FamilySearch Library in SLC?

    @m how
    Thanks for the reply.

I live in Indiana; Maureen is in Australia; I'm not sure where Robert is. So, no, I haven't tried to view it in SLC.

Robert and I were both trying to help another user who posted yesterday in the Germany group.

    Hello @m how,

I'm in extreme southern Utah and have not tried to view it in the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City.

I don't know where the user who posted the question about FHL film no. 367628 is from. Before we provide him with an answer, we are hoping to determine if the film is at least viewable either digitally or on microfilm by anyone at the FSL in SLC. If it is and the user who posted the question is not close to SLC we could then at least advise him that he might be able to find a local SLC researcher who could assist him in viewing this film.

Note that the FSL catalogue record indicates that the microfilm is available as "International B1 Floor Film" and minimally we are trying to determine if this is correct:
