Can't access a record. Provided location for the nearest FHC is an empty lot.

Hello,

I'm now living in the Philippines, but used to access records at the FHC in Carson City, Nevada. I live in Nueva Ecija Province, Luzon Island. The nearest listed FHC is at Olongopo Rd, Corner of Ventura St, Gapan City, 3106 Nueva Ecija. However, this is in the middle of the countryside, about 18 miles from my location. Viewing the location on Google Maps, there is nothing there at the address, and only a few private residences nearby.

I am trying to obtain the IMAGE of one single record, as follows:

Marriage for Asa J. Godman and Louisa Hamilton, 7 Sep 1856, Monticello [Brookston], White County, Indiana. The index says it is on page 141. I believe that the image of the record is on

Marriage Records, v. 1-3, 1835-1875; Film 2194436; Image Group Number (DGS) 4283316

Going to the page that is linked (Film # 004283316), this record is only viewable at FamilySearch Center (FHC), or an affiliate library.

Can someone please assist me in obtaining the image? These my G G grandparents.

Kindest regards,

Jon Fox

@Jon Fox_1 I visit my FSC nearly every week; I often retrieve for others. It's about 6 miles (under 10 km) away.

I've spent some time in the Philippines; in my previous career, I was Director of International Sales.

Hello Áine. Thank you for the offer of assistance. I have tried to find a FSC, so that is why the request for the image within a reasonable distance, but traveling here in the Philippines is a very different thing from in the U.S. For example, Manila is 65 miles from us. But it takes 5 to 6 hours to get there, and the traffic is amazing, to say the least. I think there are FSCs closer, but it's not easy to get to one. We are starting to walk everywhere lately, as gasoline is getting scarce. Public transportation is heavily packed.

The record I'm looking for is one of the last I need for what I am working on. I want more than just the basic date.

    Kind regards,

    Jon

@Jon Fox_1 Once she has it, Áine will most likely send you a private message with your image. Look for a red dot next to the envelope in the top right corner.

Some years ago I reported a FamilySearch Center location which was showing up located in the ocean. Some one in FamilySearch (I think in the Family Search Center Team) fixed this by changing the Map Co-ordinates for the Center, which has been entered incorrectly. Perhaps the Center mentioned in the original post has incorrect Map Co-ordinates. @shecorwe could you refer this on to the relevant team for checking.

As Áine has said, the splitting of this topic has lost the context of my comment.

I was referring to the words of the poster Jon Fox_1 in the original topic

"I'm now living in the Philippines, but used to access records at the FHC in Carson City, Nevada. I live in Nueva Ecija Province, Luzon Island. The nearest listed FHC is at Olongopo Rd, Corner of Ventura St, Gapan City, 3106 Nueva Ecija. However, this is in the middle of the countryside, about 18 miles from my location. Viewing the location on Google Maps, there is nothing there at the address, and only a few private residences nearby."

I am suggesting @shecorwe that the relevant team should check whether the Map Coordinates for the FHC in the Philippines are correct as Jon Fox_1 said "Viewing the location on Google Maps, there is nothing there at the address, and only a few private residences nearby."

Note the title of this split topic referred to a now resolved problem I has some years ago which I thought might be relevant to the FHC in the Phillipines. I do not have a current problem.

@MaureenE123 I flagged first, trying to get your comment moved back to where it belongs. When that didn't help, I commented, above.

I don't know what else to do.

    @Sam Sulser - please!

I don't know if a bot is making these splits or possibly a human who doesn't understand.
