My great grandmother was raised by her step-father. I am not related to any of his family but Relatives at RootsTech includes all these people. Why are they tied to me? How can I get rid of them as matches to me? I do not want to see any of these people.

@PJSmith17 It would help a lot of the experts in the group if you provided a little information, such as a PID # or the URL to the Step Great Grandfather, to see how he is listed in the tree.

Relatives at RootsTech ties your relatives to you because it has identified a/or connections based on the ancestry information entered into the FamilySearch tree.

If your great-grandmother is linked to her stepfather in the FamilySearch tree (even as a non-biological relationship), the tool treats that branch as a valid path for calculating connections.

You can verify the exact path the tool used by tapping on a relative's name to see the relationship path back to the shared ancestor, and if errors were made, you can correct these errors.
