I suspect editing record is not working right

When editing "United States, GenealogyBank Historical Newspaper Obituaries, 1815-2013" because someone was missed in the indexing, I went through the process of adding that person and when finished, nothing happened.

In other words,
In the obituary of Lorenzo Dow Hurlbut (LX7M-75M) I noticed unfinished attachments and thought I would finish those attachments. Before getting to that task, I noticed his mother had been missed in the index. I have added people before and am familiar with the process. I added her given name and her surname and the appropriate highlights and all went well until the final save. I clicked the blue save button, it turned gray and then nothing happened. I gave it ten minutes and a ctrl-F5 and confirmed nothing happened. I then repeated the steps as above with the same result, his mother was not created.

I think something is broken

I've had that happen a few times. There is a good chance that when you check back tomorrow or the next day that both copies of the mother's information will be there.

@Michael J. Allen There has been another complaint about the editor. We will get it checked out and see if there is a glitch somewhere. Please keep checking back, and hopefully it will be working as intended soon.

@Michael J. Allen I'm sorry you encountered a glitch editing this record. I was able to add Lorenzo's mother without issues; but as we've discussed in past threads, the function sometimes has intermittent problems.

Please report any further issues you may experience.

Today I tried adding someone and was unsuccessful again.

I wanted to attach the WWI draft Registration to Edward Rudensey (G3V9-P96) and ran into that weird thing where the record is about the nearest relative instead of the person registering. I seem to remember starting a thread about this issue some time back, but my memory is fuzzy. Anyway, I add Edward and finish the process by clicking the save button. Just as before the button goes gray and the system goes into limbo, nothing happens.

The record can be seen here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:W6M8-RNW2?lang=en

    Thanks for looking

March 27th and adding a person still goes into limbo. This time indexing missed someone in an obituary. As before, I follow the steps and at the final step click the save button and nothing happens. The obit is for Henry Isaacs (GDKH-28M) https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q59Q-5596?lang=en

I added his brother I Isaacs (or tried to anyway).

Depending on your time in Community, you probably know this issue recurs often. For engineering, it's been like playing Whack A Mole!

The issue is more complex than most end-users realize. When a patron edits a record, the system recalculates access based on various factors—collection rules, dates, locations, and metadata. More complex records are more fragile; minor inconsistencies can increase restrictions. For WWI and WWII records, the root cause is unclear, but settings in some states make the system misread availability after an edit.

It’s frustrating when just trying to improve the record causes it to become invisible, but know that we appreciate every report that helps engineering analyze the issue. I have documented this one from GenealogyBank.
