https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/171338/what-will-happen-to-old-ideas

This post from Jan 2025 mentions an ongoing process of assessment of Ideas that were present in the old Ideas system, or that had been submitted to it after early April 2024 and never showed in the list for ordinary users.

Could someone please confirm whether this assessment process is now complete, with all Ideas (both pre and post April 2024) present in the new system unless they failed to be clarified, please?

If the process is not complete, should we now resubmit our Ideas using the new system?

Also, I note that non-English Ideas still use the old system - what is the plan for those?

Thanks.

The answer is "Yes." The process is complete, and all old and new ideas are in the system.

If the process is not complete, should we now resubmit our Ideas using the new system?

No, you will not need to resubmit ideas. They have all been collected.

@logancoug what is the plan for non-English Ideas?

Also, could someone edit the pinned question(s) at Suggest an Idea to clarify that the assessment is complete, please.

@MandyShaw1 We were testing the new system in the English community, and it was iterated several times before we got to the current one. Now that the English community's process is running well and caught up, we will be updating the other language communities process soon.

Unless I'm looking in the wrong place, there appears to still be no way to see your own suggestions, or view/vote/comment on other peoples ideas, or see their status. Can someone advise please?

@mickpope that is correct, unfortunately. Apparently it is 'working as designed'.

That's unfortunate @MandyShaw1. I've got a few ideas but can't remember which one's I've submitted and which not. I guess I'll have to submit them again and keep a record somewhere. Without visibility I guess you just guess at what's happened to them 😥

@Sam Sulser do you know if there are any plans to improve the Suggest an Idea user experience, please?

As expressed by logancoug, we have finished our improvements to Suggest an Idea in the English community and will be moving the other language communities to the new process. It took us several changes before we landed with the current process. We set the process up for the benefit of our engineers who are alway so grateful for feedback.☺️ If further feedback is needed on an idea, it will be posted in the community for comment. Sam

Thanks @Sam Sulser, sounds like we are, in particular, stuck with the current UI. Good news about the potential use of Community to obtain additional feedback, though.
