@ShelleWells I'm not the one asking the question - @NancyHooker is asking and I (with much less FS tech experience) was trying to help. Thanks

Hmmm… it looks as though the original poster came back and edited their comment in some way, after everyone else posted, but yet never completed the original question.

I am having trouble of many repeated hints. Many times the source to be attached is already attached (maybe done by another person); why do I have to re-attach? This results many attachment repetitions in the sources. And of course we are working redundantly and wasting time. There are many repeated sources attached to people; these cases should be removed. I hope that this is not intentional, as a mechanism of confirming the source attachment. There are even cases that the next attachment being entered is the same as the one that I have just entered; the certificate numbers and all data matches between the 2 sources.

The URL for the source is probably different. For example - with my family members in Iowa, I will have upwards of 3 sources for their birth record. The record looks the same, but the sources are different URLS from different transcriptions of different collections. Perhaps the record is on the city level, the county level, and the state level. All may show the same image, but are actually from different collections. You will want to attach them all to your Tree person so that someone else doesn't use one to make a duplicate profile.

There are many reasons that there may be what look to be duplicate sources to be linked to your Persons. Be what they may, please link all (even duplicate) sources to their correct FamilySearch PID's. This will keep the records from being used by someone else to create a duplicate Person within the FamilyTree.

I have worked on many people in the Tree that have well over 50 total linked sources - most of which were multiple copies of the same source image - driving those numbers up.
