Dear all!

There have been made some changes in the registry regarding some royal family lineage of Germany. Now the user "loraleerincon1 is repeatedly making some changes, which I cannot understand and deleting a fair part of my family tree. Unfortunately all contact tries have failed. I'm asking now, where can I report ill-behaviour in family trees changes?

Thank you very much for your help.

Yours sincerely

@PhilippHonegger I just tried the email envelope and entered the username you posted as a Recipient and I got "no results" but to answer your question, I think you can Flag the "troublemaker" so I'm tagging @Sam Sulser to help you as I'm not FS staff — also, you can phone FS Support Help in the US at 866-406-1830

@PhilippHonegger you could try Report Abuse on one of the profiles in question but I should warn you that the bar is very high for abuse. However high volume or careless the activity, FS is likely to be unprepared to take action. You may have to revert the incorrect changes via the profile change log and then follow the profile in case it happens again.

Users can't delete profiles that have ever been edited by someone else, btw, the removal of relationships is likely a factor here.

I can't find the user in FS Chat either. @PhilippHonegger it would be good if you could post an example profile PID if you need further Community help.

@maryellenstevensbarnes1 Thank you for your comitment and your answer!

@MandyShaw1 Thank to you as well Mrs. Shaw! What do you mean by "post an example profile PID"? Do you mean I should publicly post the ID of the so called "Troublemaker"? Or should I post the PID of my deceased ancestor of my family tree in question?

Thank you two. It could also be that I' m wrong and the user has evidence for his right to change the relations. But then, it would be good for me to know, why this is so, in order to understand the changes. For I have found in different genealogy sites the same evidence of mine, that I put forward.

I wish you a blessed time!

This is what I don't understand! Maybe there is a quarrel amidst historians?

    Thank you for your advice!

@PH_3546779G7J9056_CHSW This kind of thing pops up pretty often in the FamilySearch Tree. Have you tried reaching out to the contributor directly? If you click on their name in the change log, you’ll see both an email and a chat link. That’s usually the quickest way to clear things up.

It’s worth remembering that even one relationship change can ripple through a whole branch of the tree. Sometimes those edits come from solid research, but other times they’re from folks who are still learning the ropes and just trying to fix what looks off to them.

There’s a great post with tips on how to track changes made by others—it can really help you stay on top of what’s happening in your lines.

And just a heads‑up: what used to be called the CET (personal tree in FamilySearch) is now the GEDCOM upload. When you upload a GEDCOM file, you’re creating your own online tree that you can build, edit, and manage independently.

Hope that helps! It’s all part of the collaborative nature of the Tree—we’re learning together and keeping family history alive.

A few statistics to remember for Family Search

    1. There are over 1.78 billion individual people on FamilySearch Tree

    2. Over 13 billion searchable records on FamilySearch

    3. Almost 6 billion digital images published

    4. 650,000 digital books published on line

    5. Almost 50 million visitors to the site each month

    6. 2.5 billion records were added to the tree in 2024 alone

While these are notable accomplishments, FamilySearch's belief is that The Family connection people make is what matters most. The Family coming together to learn about themselves and their progenitors.

With the help of online volunteers, emerging technologies, and partnerships with other organizations, FamilySearch (a free service ) adds over 1 million new searchable records to its website every day.

None of this is to say your questions and issues are not of concern or valid, just to let you know it may take time.

It may take time, but all of the discussions are looked over by FamilySearch, and attempts are made to answer people individually, send it to the engineeers, or other professionals and volunteers, if it is possible; sometimes it takes a long time to receive answers to these discussions, sometimes they have already been answered in previous discussions, and sometimes there simply isn't an answer at this time.

Here are a few practical ways to navigate that system more effectively:

    Why responses take time

    • Volume of questions: Thousands of users post queries, so moderators and volunteers prioritize as best they can.
    • Complexity of genealogy: Some questions require deep research or may not have a clear answer at all.
    • Duplicate topics: If your question has already been addressed in another thread, moderators may point you there instead of re-answering.

Tips to improve your chances of getting a useful reply

    • Be specific: Include names, dates, places, and record types you’ve already checked.
    • Check existing threads: Search the discussion boards first—your question may already have an answer.
    • Use multiple sources: FamilySearch is powerful, but pairing it with Ancestry, MyHeritage, or local archives can fill gaps.
    • Engage with others: Responding to other users’ posts can build goodwill and sometimes prompt quicker replies to your own.

    When there isn’t an answer

    • Sometimes records simply don’t exist or aren’t digitized yet. In those cases, the best path forward is to explore alternative record sets (church registers, land deeds, probate files) or broaden your search geographically.

Thank you too!!! How can I upload a GEDCOM-file. I can't pay the paid sites as are "Ancestry" or "geneanet.org". So my experience with Familysearch is the best option I could get. It is also worth to elaborate my family tree, here. Greetings
