Family Search is down and has been for hours...
I assume you know the site is down, but wanted the technicians to know.

All kinds of problems with memories, load time, missing tag on every image, I go to tag and i get sent to another area and says "Oops, something went wrong. Please refresh the page." , detached photos don't show in "following", and in "following" attached photos when clicked on go to error 404.

All kinds of problems with everything in Family Tree so far today. Engineers' updates are always more likely to affect working in FamilySearch on Mondays. Problems should clear up later, but I've struggled in getting anything done for around 3 hours now.

Something Went Wrong
Unfortunately, something went wrong and we are unable to display the record. Try refreshing the page, or come back later.

Wonder if any of what you are seeing is related to the AWS outage?

@LarryAndrew1 Thank you for reporting this. The engineers do know about this and are working on it right now. However, we have no idea when it will be fixed.

There was some sort of internet outage in the news. I wonder if that's what is causing it?

From CNN “
Where things stand now
• Amazon says its services are recovering again after connectivity issues persisted Monday. But reports of problems with Amazon’s cloud computing services unit AWS continue.
• Before the latest round of issues, Amazon said it “fully mitigated” an earlier outage. Several popular websites and apps — including Snapchat, Facebook and Fortnite — were impacted. Banks and cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and AI firm Perplexityalso reported issues, as did US airlines Delta and United.
• One expert said the financial impact of today’s disruption could total hundreds of billions of dollars.”

Ancestry just went down as well. And, when I was on Amazon's own site a few hours ago, nothing was working.

Since they’re impacted by the Amazon AWS outage, then the best place for updates will be the status page for the Amazon AWS outage.
Amazon AWS outageI’ll note that Amazon’s status makes it sound like it’s mostly resolved, but they were telling news media early this morning that it WAS resolved. At 12:35 PM PDT, the Amazon status page shows 104 impacted services and 33 resolved services.

Ancestry.com is completely down.

It is a worldwide issue, first identified in Amazon Web Services (AWS), a DNS (Domain Name Service) issue. It's the Internet backbone system (dns) that turns a name into the numerical address of a server. It's been acting up for almost 20 hours (so far). If/when it is fixed, it may take another 24 hours to finally resolve. (I've been an IT Professional for 40+ years) … I'm not a programmer. I'm a systems & network guy.
