Added information to my "Stories" not being saved
This past week or so, when I open one of my own created stories, make edits, hit save, and the result it NOTHING saved!
All that past hour of work is lost.
I learned my lesson and now spend my time editing my stories in a word document.
However, even today when I copied and pasted the edits into a story and "saved" nothing was saved.
I have tried doing it in my Chrome browser, and in my Microsoft edge browser. Same issue.
I have hit the save button, and even tried hitting the browser's "refresh" .. and still the new edits do not appear in my stories.
Anyone else having same problem?

Could you send a screenshot of the image right before you click the Submit button and another right after? Also, what operating system are you using?

I went to a story I wrote in 2020 and tried to add some new information I just found. I clicked the "Edit" button in the tip right (the gal helping me on the phone couldn't see a button there)…I added my new info and clicked "submit" and then reread the story. My info was NOT saved. WHAT IS GOING ON?
The gal helping me said it probably had something to do with the fact that I went into the new Beta program for sharing living family members pages with my family. I had problems from the beginning of that program and asked to be released from the program. I was given a link to click to get out…but I guess it didn't work?
Please help me get back to my old view! I am so frustrated!

I have submitted hundreds of stories about various ancestors. Up until two weeks ago or so, I could edit a story I previously added. Now I cannot edit any story that was previously submitted. A case in point is: Peter Pieters Jelleme Male 1 November 1852 – 1915 G3QT-SJN. A story was submitted 10 April 2024, and now we can no longer edit that story.

I got some help for this problem, and found out that the Edit function had moved with the new Memories module. It used to say, at the top left of the story, Edit Story. Now there is an EDIT button up on the far right. I found that, and now I can Edit my stories. Thanks again.

The EDIT button has changed -
but there still are cases (as of yesterday at least) where the existing STORIES item - could not be updated.0 -
There clearly is a problem with Editing Stories in FamilySearch. If it’s a new story created today, it seems to work fine. But if you try to edit a story you created in the past, the edits won’t save. In fact, if the older story had a photo attached, when you try to save an edit to the text, the edits are not saved, but the photo attached duplicates itself in the story. Then if you try again to edit the text again, what was one photo and then duplicated to two photos, now duplicates to four photos! Something’s definitely not working correctly.

Today, I was able to see this issue as well.
One story did not show the changes I made and saved. I confirmed the issue exists for this story even if I refresh the page, log out, come back later, etc.Yet a second story that I edited and saved showed my changes immediately, as it should.
In the Gallery, I could see (in the thumbnails) that both stories were actually being saved.
We now understand there is an issue with "browser caching". Some stories are being temporarily saved by the browser and are not updating as we expected. We are currently working to fix this.
Thank you everyone for helping us to find this!~Stacy, Memories QA
