Please provide the Project Name and Batch Code so we can see what you see - for example:
US, California—Naturalization Records, 1883–1990 [Part B] [MQXB-14T] is the batch code

I have the same question. For example, it is shown in US City Directories MQNQ-96T - that I am now reviewing.

It's several times on a batch I currently have, too. I don't know what it means, but I wouldn't worry about it. It's not a name so doesn't need to be indexed.

Unfortunately, that batch comes up as restricted for me.

@Maile L insights?

Google says "pk" on a city directory stands for "parkway" as in the location of a business office 😅 so when indexing, we can safely ignore that notation😎

I asked this question previously "I started puting (K Pk) as a spouse. But then I found
James (Frances) (K Pk). Now I AM confused."
A batch with that on is US—City Directories, 1902–1935 [Part B][MQNQ-9DF].
On column 3, the top item, Wilson, Arthur J coater (Anna) (K Pk)
Then again in column 3 Wilson Esther M (K Pk)
I am reviewing and Esther, the indexer had put K Pk as a spouse which is acually what the instructions say. But that doesn't work for the first instance with Arthur J. Then there are a couple more in column 4.
So i'm confused. But then, I am easily confused. So.........what do you think? Ny thought is to just ignore them.
Thanks

Rex, see the previous posting.

Pk is the abbreviation for "Parkway" (ex: Roosevelt Parkway). K Pk is not indexed.

Must be Chicago. Batch restricted, again.
Somehow I doubt that this particular Pk stands for Parkway, because in that case, what the holly is the K, but the question is moot: it's clearly not a name, so it's not indexed.

Fopund the answer in a list of abbreviations. K Pk is Kodak Park. If you see L Pk it is Lincoln Park. Mystery solved. Thanks for all the responses. I think I had about 25 or so.

Mod note - two questions on the same subject were merged here.

If K Pk is Kodak Park, why is it in parentheses after the name and before an address?

Possibly just because that's how the City Directories publishing companies chose to do it. Who knows?😊

Eastman Business Park, formerly Kodak Park, is a large manufacturing and industrial complex in the city of Rochester, New York, in the United States. The complex is run by Eastman Kodak
I completed a review of a Rochester 1914 residential batch earlier today. A name was listed, followed by supervisor - Kodak Park.

I've seen (K Pk) a number of times in different city directories I've indexed. Finding nothing in the instructions or in commuity discussions, I initially included them as the spouse, thinking them to possibly be a weird spousal designation. After seeing the same thing several times now, I just ignore them. If some enterprising soul finds the actual meaning, please share.

Pk is the abbreviation for "parkway," so it's a thoroughfare and not indexed.
