Hi - Welcome to Family Search Community and posting your question about a parent place. Not sure where in the process you are or what you have done. In order for a place to be used as a parent place, it must be an already approved place. If the place you want to use for a parent place is not already a standardized place, then you will need to following the steps for submitting the desired parent place as an approved place. We have attached the link to the instructions for submitting a place. There are 13 steps. Pay particular attention to step 11 if submitting a place you want to use as a parent place. There is also a section on tips for choosing a parent place. Hope this helps.

You cannot make any places accepted or certified.
When you submit a request to add a place it is marked as provisional and the request goes to the Places Authority team. Someone there has to agree that it should be added, evaluate the place, complete its entry, add citations and other helpful information, and then mark the place accepted or certified. This process can take a few weeks.
It is only after that process is complete that you can then use the place in Family Tree or use it as the parent place for other requests.

It can take time for a place to be checked and approved. Have you looked in the Places database yet at the parent place you requested? It should be there with a provisional status. What place did you request be added?

I have gotten replies about Places feedback years later.
