i love family search. what i dont like is getting emails saying that it is a relatives anniversary or birthday- click here to see her life events. when I do, it takes me to about 4 other relatives from all over my tree- which is cool. BUT its not the person i am wanting to find out about from the email. this has happened a few times

I assume the comments are an example of those you are finding submitted by FamilySearch patrons (via email?) on the subject of unwanted notifications. You should refer them to their Profile / Notifications page*, where they can select preferences for communications from FamilySearch. I have deselected some options to avoid receiving the email notifications described.
