What Type of Record is This?

I'm having trouble figuring out how to label this (Burial, Marriage, etc.). As far as I can tell, there's nothing in the document that tells me which it is. So, how do I index it? Thanks.

Thanks. I wasn't sure since, to me, it could have been anything. I'd just hate to mark it that way if it's not an index and lose that info.

Please provide the batch name and code [XXXX-XXX] so someone can help you further.

It's an alphabetical index, and how (or if) you index the index depends entirely on the specific project's instructions, so as maryellen said: batch, please?

    From the Project Instructions:

    • Indexes are images with only a name and reference information, such as page or volume number, with no other information, such as dates, available. Indexes should be marked as No, No Extractable Data.

Complicating this - there is a date - but that still doesn't indicate whether it is a death record or birth record, etc. Also there are no reference images for prior/subsequent pages.

This certainly seems to be an index rather than a specific type of record. I would probably mark it no extractable data and download another batch.

The type of record appears to be baptisms:

"South Africa, Church of the Province of South Africa, Parish Registers, 1801-2004," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9TW5-HY7?cc=1468076&wc=SFVC-YWG%3A44975801%2C44975802%2C47802001%2C47824601 : 21 May 2014), South Africa > Cape of Good Hope > Cape Town, Simon's Town, St Francis of Assisi > Baptisms with index, 1814-1932, marriages with index, 1813-1819 > image 18 of 109; William Cullen Library, Wits University, Johannesburg.

@Emily Horton, also whenever a batch is marked NNED, it goes back to a higher review before anything is discarded - Happy indexing!
