who to contact for indexing for inmates

I have seen it stated that it is NOT possible to nominate a particular batch to do, if this is what you are asking. Otherwise sign in or create an account at Family Search, pick find a project and start indexing or reviewing.

Are you talking about prison inmates themselves doing indexing?
or about indexers choosing a record that is concerning prison inmates.

In theory inmates could index just like anyone else (depending on the restrictions they work under)
an indexer is an indexer is an indexer . . .

@Dennis J Yancey, from the number of stars by your name, I recognize that you have considerable Family Search experience, but from my own limited but professional experience in the legal field & courts, I would have concerns about this "theory" ---- and besides, some projects have definitive requirements for indexing --- just sayin . . . . but maybe I'm just an aging worry-wart. 😎

I'm not theorizing . .
Im just pointing out -- that as far as I know -- anyone can log on to Familysearch and sign up for indexing
I dont think they do a "background check" - they didnt for me . . . 😉
Now there may surely be some rules at the prison as to what they do and dont do - and that surely may be a limiting factor . . . thats a different story.

There is a department called FamilySearch Correctional Facility Services.
Maybe this will help:

There are alot of articles online about these great programs that have been conducted for years! I suggest a search of the words: prisoners indexing for familysearch. One article I read says that there are at least 35 state prisons that have been contracted by FS to index. I knew a few people who helped with this when we had arbitration/indexing and could see the top 25 groups every day. The prisoners at the Utah State Prison were very dedicated and usually in the top 10 of that list of indexing and reviewing every single day! I don't know what happened when they moved to web-indexing.
Best wishes.
