Where do I enter Sr. when indexing?
I am working on the U.S. Virginia Vital Records. The man's name is Samuel Myers, Sr. How do I enter that name correctly? Should the "Sr." be entered on the surname column as Myers, Sr.?

”Sr.”is a Suffix and this project does not provide a Suffix field, so you’d likely ignore the “Sr.” There are Prefix fields, so watch out for those. Also, I don’t know what type of entry you’re dealing with, but for a marriage for example, in the Field Help (purple question mark) for Spouse’s Father’s Given Names you’ll see the following instruction.
“Do not include titles, terms, prefixes, or suffixes with the name.”
So look at the Field Helps for guidance, for your specific type of record/entry, but most likely you would drop the “Sr.” and any other Suffixes. But know that Researchers who find the record via the other information you’ve indexed will see that additional information about their relative.
