"BUG" affecting access to 1572 reels of microfim due to Description Error
There is an inaccurate description of a record group that is causing accessibility issues. The specific record group in your Catalog is entitled, "Final petition and citizenship papers (New York), 1865-1958.” This group of 1572 reels of microfilm covers the actual Naturalization Petitions of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. The Eastern District is in Brooklyn, NY, otherwise referred to as Kings County.
I previously searched the Catalog using, United States, New York, Brooklyn as well as United States, New York, Kings County to no avail.
Since I could not determine the complete Petition number from the card index (which is easily findable in your Catalog) I reached out to the National Archives in New York City who informed me that the Petition was on familysearch.org and provided me a direct link to the document I wanted. After downloading the document, I noted the Film Number (007784524) which I then searched to find the title of the record set and discovered that the title in your catalog does not reference Brooklyn or Kings County.
I hope that you will consider correcting this situation so that others will be able to easily locate this set of Naturalization Petitions ranging from 1865 – 1958.
I am attaching a screen shot of how the group currently appears.
Thank you for your consideration.

@Paul Moverman Thank you for pointing out that the catalog entry for film 7784524 is incomplete because it does not mention Brooklyn or Kings County. Here is how you can report this to the cataloging department directly so they can take a look and see about upgrading that catalog entry:

As (I assume) the Catalog is still locked, so not editable, can you please confirm whether the team receiving such reports is logging them, ready for edits to be carried out once the "new Catalog" is up and running?
An alternative suggestion has been for users to take a note of such errors and only report them once the Catalog is available for editing again (by FamilySearch employees).

@Paul W The request to report catalog errors to the email address in the article came from the cataloging department, so I think we can be confident that they are keeping track and editing things.
