Trying to open an image but it shows image unavailable.
Hi Everyone,
I'm new here and I would like to know how I can open an image that it shows "Image Unavailable".
It's an immigration card from my great-grandfather.
Citation: "Brasil, Cartões de Imigração, 1900-1965," database with images, FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6XSV-P629 : 20 April 2022), Felipe Cadam, Immigration; citing , Arquivo Nacional, Rio de Janeiro (National Archives, Rio de Janeiro).
Thanks in advance.

The page shows no indication that there is an image of this record on the FamilySearch website. That is usually the implication when the "Image Unavailable" message appears.
It is just possible there is an unlinked / non-indexed image (available from another collection via the Catalog section, perhaps) or you might be able to locate it on a commercial website, like Ancestry or Find My Past.

Hmmm: the "digital folder number" (108167158) listed under Document Information is not in the catalog, and none of the 126 people indexed from it (https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=100&offset=100&q.filmNumber=108167158) have an image available. I suspect there may be privacy laws in play here, which FamilySearch enforces on an all-or-nothing basis: if there's a single restricted image in an image group, the whole group is restricted.
My theory is not contradicted by what happens if I plug the number directly into the film-viewer URL (https://www.familysearch.org/search/film/108167158): I gain the information that the image group exists, and has 205 images, but it says "This image is unavailable for online viewing at this time."
Perhaps you could ask the Family History Library's Lookup Service for the image? The Document Information for the index entry says it's image 132.

Hello...your are looking for Felipe Cadam, Digital folder 108167158, image number 00132
The collection appears in the card catalog here: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/1932363
If you click the link "here" it takes you to the online collection: https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1932363
Next, click "How to use this Collection" which will take you to the wiki page describing the collection here:
https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Brazil,_Rio_de_Janeiro,_Immigration_Cards_-_FamilySearch_Historical_Records Scroll down until you find in the article the information about the "Digital Folder Number List" click link.
There are more and more links to follow....Unfortunately I also never came to a real understanding of how to find an image quickly. The Digital folder number (108167158) does not correspond with any DGS number
I was able to Click "Browse all 3,967,834 Images" then click a group number, and a blue number and get into the images. You can also get into the images by clicking on a camera from this page: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/1937250?availability=Family%20History%20Library
Perhaps you know enough information about dates and places to identify the correct film. Or perhaps the National Archives of Brazil website has more information about how the collection is organized. Good luck.

Thanks, Julia.
I was really wondering what was the root cause to not see it. I already requested to Family History Library for the information.
