My ancestor's wife and mother have almost the same name. Error?
My greatx4-grandfather Giuseppe Tripoli is listed in this marriage record as marrying a Rosaria Cali. However, his mother is listed as Rosolia Cali. Before I go any further down the tree, I need to check what's going on here. Either
A. Cali was a common surname in 19th Century Sicily and this is a coincidence
B. There was a typo/transcription error that listed the same name in two slots and needs to be fixed
C. There's some incest to some degree going on here.
Anybody have any ideas on how to look into this?

I think the first thing I'd try is the Family History Library's Lookup Service: they may be able to provide you with the image to go with that index entry. The request form is accessed via the green button hidden on the bookshelf picture at the bottom of this page: https://www.familysearch.org/en/family-history-library/family-history-library-records-look-up-service
(I have an ancestor who married a woman with exactly the same name as his mother. Thankfully, he wasn't the son who was named after his father.)

I worked on a family where a man's second wife later married the man's son of the same name. That somewhat unusual situation caused a lot of confusion for genealogists.
The wife had children by both men, so the son's stepchildren were his own half siblings.
