My 2GGM has been replaced with the wrong person in Family Search
While reviewing my family tree on Family Search, I have just discovered what I can only describe as a mess.
My 2GGM was Lola Mae Shaw, born in Illinois about 1840 and died in Iowa about 1917. She married my 2GGF, Henry Stringham (97HR-H8W), on 20 December 1861 in Princeton, Scott, Iowa. My wife performed her baptism on 4 January 1994 in the Jordan River Temple and her endowment on 22 March 1994, also in Jordan River.
Right now, when I bring up Henry Stringham on FamilySearch, Henry and his three children are shown correctly, but the attached spouse is one Mary Louisa Shaw (MHQ8-BT3). Obviously, Mary Louisa Shaw and Lola Mae Shaw are not the same person. So, I did a search for Lola Mae Shaw, and a result did come up for that name. But when I selected Lola Mae Shaw in the search results, up popped Mary Louisa Shaw!
Worse, Mary Louisa Shaw was married to one Jeremiah Sandborn Cutting (MQ35-GLH) on 2 August 1871, and they had five children, further proof that Mary Louisa Shaw and Lola Mae Shaw could not be the same person.
Still worse, the baptism and endowment dates and temple for Mary Louisa Shaw are the same as for my Lola Mae Shaw. In other words, it seems that someone has "absorbed" my Lola Mae Shaw into Mary Louisa Shaw, including "hijacking" (if that is the right word) my Lola Mae Shaw's baptism and endowment information, which means that the baptism and endowment information for Mary Louisa Shaw is incorrect.
I thought of replacing Mary Louisa Shaw in Henry Stringham's marriage by creating a new person for Lola Mae Shaw, but then realized that, by doing so, the original Lola Mae Shaw's ordinance information would not transfer to the "new" Lola Mae Shaw, and the ordinance information for Mary Louisa Shaw, whoever she is, would still be incorrect.
Please HELP! Thank you.
