I have two batches with no year listed. I can't get backward to Jan. 1. How do I research the year?
Frances, if you look at the top of your batches there is a long number across the top that may look like this: [Part O][M9LN-94D]. If you will share that code with us for each batch then we can take a look at them and further assist you. There is a way that you can go back to reference the date on batches, but it would be much better if we knew what you are working on so that we can get you the correct information.
Thank you for volunteering to index these precious records. It is much appreciated. Happy New Year!!!!
The code is [C]M3JR-X87] for one and [C]M3JR-XD2 for the other. They are clearly by the same cleric and the same year. Thank you so much. Frances Jeppson
Hey Frances. Thank you for sharing the batch codes. I have looked at the last one, seems the first one wouldn't open for me, and you are right they do seem to be by the same cleric. Since there are no reference images available to go back to you will have to follow the project instructions: If you cannot determine the 4-digit year, index the 2-digit number. If you cannot determine the 2-digit or 4-digit year, press Ctrl+B to mark this field blank.
You will be fine because the reviewer, like me, will see that this piece of information is missing and we have no way of referencing any previous pages.
I hope this helps. Again thank you for giving your time.
Oops! The first number is [Part C]M3JR-X8T]. I read it wrong.
Thank you, Frances. I did review the batch and again there is no reference image available so you wouldn't be able to go back and see the year if one was provided. I'm sure it will be fine to go with the project instructions regarding this missing piece of information (see above comment).
Thank you for hanging in there and indexing these records. Be Blessed.🤗
When there is no year on your image, you simply mark the field blank using the Ctrl + B keys (Cmd + B on a Mac and the first x on a tablet). You don't need to worry about reference images because you don't have a two digit number to do a look back to and find out the first two digits of the century. Just index the Month and day of the third bann as outlined in the field helps. Field helps are accessed by clicking on the purple question mark that appears when we click on a field.
Hope that helps! Happy New Year and Happy Indexing!
